A little consistency makes a big difference.

Recommended format

amount + unit + ingredient + optional prep

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 250 ml milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Tips

  • Use one ingredient per line.
  • Put prep at the end: carrots, chopped.
  • Avoid vague amounts when possible:
    • Instead of: a splash of milk
    • Use: 50 ml milk (or 1/4 cup milk)

Mark optional items clearly

  • 1 tsp chili flakes (optional)
